Making our Farmette,

How Our Story Began
The Grandson of a Farmer
Garrett, owner of Bluebird City Farm, is deeply rooted in the farming tradition, having been born into a family with a rich agricultural legacy. Hailing from a line of farmers, Garrett’s connection to the land runs deep, shaped by the values instilled by generations past. His grandfather, Chris Sorensen, was an award-winning farmer renowned in the Central Valley of California. Grandpa Chris’s commitment to excellence and sustainable farming practices left an indelible mark on Garrett, shaping his passion for agriculture and inspiring the creation of Bluebird City Farm.
Guided by the wisdom passed down through the generations, Garrett has translated his familial heritage into the vibrant reality of Bluebird City Farm. Through Bluebird City Farm, Garrett pays homage to his grandfather’s legacy, continuing the tradition of excellence and sustainable farming that was sown in the fertile soil of the Central California.
Zephaniah: A Pet Born to Herd
Garrett picked Zephaniah for his lazy demeanor and beautiful coat, but what he didn’t know was Zeph would never be a normal pet. Zeph wasn’t bred to be a herding dog or anything fruity, but hidden inside his cute puppy belly was an unrelenting fire to herd. Zeph would say every living thing in the world can be separated into two categories: things in charge and things that need herding. Luckily, Zeph sees Garrett as in charge, but unfortunately, Garrett and Zeph didn’t have anything to herd. For several years, it looked like Zeph’s instincts might be wasted on toy ducks and chasing squirrels.
